TXokoaldeko TXalaparta TXokoa
The Txokoaldeko Txalaparta Txokoa project (TX TX TX) was launched when the Usurbil City Council chose our project as a model for a new use of the old Txokoalde train station. In this project, we remain linked to the areas in which we have always worked, but having a physical space multiplies our possibilities.
The work of TXOKOALDE is divided into four areas:
Baga, THE SPOT FOR TXALAPARTARIS
An open meeting point for txalapartaris. All the material we have (wood, stones, bamboo, iron, drums, ceramics, tiles), material that we have explored during our trajectory, is available for other txalapartaris to be used in their rehearsals and projects.
Biga, AN OPEN WINDOW TOWARDS OUR CREATION PROCESSES
We open this space to share those multidisciplinary processes that emerge from our artistic work.
In Txokoalde you can attend rehearsals and meetings or participate in constructions or workshops. Schools, cultural associations or people, we will try to respond to the expectations of each person or entity that is interested in what we do every day in Txokoalde.
Higa, GUIDED VISITS
The City Council of Usurbil has launched tourist routes that approach the heritage left by the cultural activity of the 60s, very abundant in the Basque Country. In this sense, the work of the Artze brothers was very relevant to develop the sound of the txalaparta.
In Txokoalde we join these routes in a natural way. We will approach the history of the txalaparta, its origin, the development of the instrument and its current expansion, as well as the link that nowadays it has with different musical genres.
Laga, BEYOND TXOKOALDE
We want to show the trajectory of the txalaparta and with it, our own trajectory. But in this case, we move to projects with their own headquarters (schools, euskaltegis, youth homes). They are natural partners for us to share our project and it is easy to enter, support and feed their dynamics.
